Melrose Place Remake News

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,

Melrose PlaceMark Schwan, noted producer of One Tree Hill, is no longer attached to the remake. Does this mean the whole project is off?

Dawn Ostroff, president of entertainment for CW, is “in negotiations” with a mysterious someone who’s name has not been released. If all goes well, however, the new Melrose Place could be on TV as early as next fall.

wants the show to be based around 20-somethings, as it was in its first life on TV, but the network definitely wants original cast members involved as well. There’s nothing definite on that end. “We’ve talked about everybody, but we haven’t spoken to anybody yet,” explained president Ostroff.

I Confess: I Love Old Teen Idols

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, MTV, Gossip, Rumors, Video,

I usually shy away from reality projects featuring Scott Baio (not falling for that one again), but I just may have to make an exception for VH1. The network will soon be premiering its brand-new Confessions of a Teen Idol, which features seven former hotties who all share the same mission: grab the brass ring.

You know, again.

They each had their shot at fame and some even spent a little time at the top. But Hollywood is capricious, and soon enough all of these men found themselves on the swift path to being has-beens. But VH1 - and apparently, - thinks they could be shining stars once more. Or at the very least, reality stars. Here’s the funniest part: Baio is part host, part mentor to these would-be famous-again celebs.

I know, it’s a total riot.

Grant Show on Melrose Place Spin-Off

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, The CW, Gossip,

Grant ShowIn a recent interview with TV Guide, former Melrose Placer Grant Show talked about the possibility of returning for the planned spin-off.

The success of 90210 has unleashed a lot of speculation and a ton of hope. If one show can be recycled and find success, why not another? Now, it seems (the slick show which was once featured in a two-hour programming block with Beverly Hills, 90210) will soon make its triumphant return to TV. But…that doesn’t mean the cast members will do the same. See what Show had to say about the series after the jump.

90210 to Explore Teen Pregnancy?

90210 Cast

UPDATE: If you’d like to find out the name of the potentially pregnant character, click here.

Rumor has it that story lines are going to get even more complex on , The CW’s Beverly Hills spin-off.

According to gossip, an already-troubled character will have a new problem added to the mix: an unexpected baby. Insiders say the show will aim to deal with issues that both teens and adults can relate to, somewhat in the way the original used to tackle its subjects. One source even says the new episodes are “getting better.”

Since they promise to contain scenes with original BH cast members like and Jennie Garth, I have no doubt this part of the rumor is the truth. As to the other stuff…we’ll just have to wait and see.

Is 90s TV the Next Big Fad?

Melrose Place

A few months ago, it became very “in” for Hollywood to start creating sequels for 80s- ad 90s-era movie series we believed to be long dead. Now, television seems be on the brink of a new trend: 90s TV, revisited. The CW seems to be following one basic theory: hey, it’s working for .

Now, the minds at the network are brewing up another remake/continuation that Aaron Spelling fans are sure to enjoy: Melrose Place, the second time around. Details are sketchy, but a rep for the station has confirmed something is brewing to bring this prime-time drama back to life.

The series, which cropped up during fame, ran on FOX from 1992 to 1999.

Doherty Return a Done Deal for 90210

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,

Description I knew there was a good reason I kept watching 90210 even after Brenda Walsh randomly disappeared. The CW has officially announced that will return to the series to do two episodes for sure. She might even do more (please, Shannen, do more!).

Doherty left the original after four short years in 1994. Despite re-emerging on TV several times over, she’s still Brenda Walsh to most of the viewing public. And it only took her four episodes to find Walsh-like fame once more.

She’ll reprise her role again in the 11th and 12th episodes, scheduled to air next month, and will appear on screen with ’s Kelly Taylor yet again. Think we can manage to keep watching until she returns?

90210 to Reunite Walsh Twins?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,

Brandon and Brenda Walsh fans (many of whom are really just Beverly Hills, 90210 fans, now older but perhaps not wiser in their TV choices) have been waiting for the day when the new series will reunite two very important members from the original cast: Brenda and Brandon Walsh. New buzz suggests that Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty may be paired on the show again…just not the way we really want.

Priestley has at last agreed to appear on the set, though not to reprise his role as Brandon. Instead, he’ll come back to direct. Priestley previously directed eighteen episodes of the original series way back in the 90s, and has more recently directed a couple of episodes of the ABC Family hit .

“I think I sort of ran the gamut with Brandon - 249 episodes,” said to Access last June. “I think Brandon did his time.”

But Brenda did not. CW reps have confirmed that will do two new episodes for the series. Will Priestley direct his on-screen sister? On that issue, the CW isn’t confirming or denying the possibility. “I think it would be a kick for Jason,” said executive producer Gabe Sachs. “But we don’t know whether that will happen yet.”

Doherty in Talks for More 90210 Episodes

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,

Shannen DohertyAlthough she was originally signed on for only four episodes, it looks like 90210 may be graced with more Shannen Doherty appearances this season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Shannen will be adding two more episodes to her IMDB profile. While the deal has not yet been confirmed, its reportedly just a matter of her signing on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, another Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has just agreed to put in some hours on the CW set. Jason Priestley - who still has no current intentions to be in front of the camera - is now scheduled to direct the drama’s 18th episode. That hour is expected to air sometime in the spring.

Jason PriestleyLuke Perry

When news of the new series broke, fans dreamed of seeing Luke Perry, Jason Priestley and Tori Spelling reunited onscreen with Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth. Each one, however, said they wouldn’t be involved with the show…at least, not yet. But Brandon Walsh and Dylan McKay may be closer to the show than we think.

According to , both characters will be a big part of next Tuesday’s episode “Model Behavior.” This installment to the story airs September 30, and could introduce a few new twists and turns to the plot.
